Cascina Adelaide Barolo Fossati 2015
Barolo - Langhe - Piedmont - Italy
ABV - 14.5%
From the privately owned Fossati vineyard in La Morra, this is a stunning and complex single vineyard Barolo and a personal favourite. Made from 100% Nebbiolo and aged for 24 monbths in oak barrrels and then 6 in the bottle. I bought a case of the 2010 a few years ago based on a very high press rating and tried the first bottle on a warm summer evening in 2020 and it was staggeringly good. Dark ruby colour in the glass with an intoxicating floral aroma. Rich ripe plum fruit on the palate with inrediible depth of flavour, hints of spice and strong tannins. Drink with a strong cheese or red meats and game - amazing with grilled steak. It can be drunk young with a good long decant but this is certainly one to hide away for a few years if you can and you will be well rewarded. Drink from now until 2035
